Jupiter Group’s CEO Mark Tweddle and Head of Grapes, Damian Sutherland were joined by Sahyadri Farms Marketing Director Azhar Tambuwala to discuss over a decade of working together in India, technological advancements in the region and the importance of new variety grapes.

Transparency and adding value

Jupiter CEO Mark says

“The plan over the next three years is to have 5,000 acres of ARRA varieties planted. The progress to date is really promising and very exciting”.

Mark continues:

“We will be able to show transparency on the heritage of the fruit, right the way through to the consumer”.

Indian exclusivity

Thanks to the ARRA program, Jupiter are the only company in the world to have new varieties of grapes planted in India.

Sahyadri Farms Marketing Director Azhar said:

“what we have done on new varieties with Jupiter is actually a kind of revolution in the grape industry in India”.

He continues:

“Getting the license and bringing it into India, where nobody even knew how to bring it in, how to get the license and the permits and actually grow it has been a very soul satisfying journey for both Sahyadri and Jupiter”.
