South African Star Ruby grapefruit in full swing
As one of the first to start with our citrus in South Africa, it’s fantastic to see our Star Ruby grapefruit harvest in full swing
Handpicked at the optimum time to develop the signature tart and bitter-sweet flavours, Jupiter’s Star Ruby grapefruit are also cultivated to a premium sizing which offers a higher juice content than other varieties.
The positioning of our farms in South Africa are ideal. Our largest citrus farm in Limpopo benefits from an early climactic advantage meaning we are amongst the first to start with lemons, Star Ruby grapefruit and Valencia oranges.
Oranges on the horizon
Our Turkey and Benny Valencia oranges will start to harvest from weeks 20-22, closely followed by our premium Midknight variety.
The warm South African days and cooler nights benefit the fruit immensely, providing a deep orange colouration when matured fully.
