As COVID-19 restrictions ease globally, Jupiter sponsored football team Rockafellas have been participating in soccer tournaments throughout their age groups.

As the largest commercial partner of The Nancy Tweddle Foundation, an independent International NGO NFP we’re pleased to continue supporting Rockafellas Football Club in South Africa.

The Rockafellas team are a volunteer driven football club and non-profitable organization with a focus on keeping South African youths away from the prolific gang and drug related crimes associated with the township areas of Cape Town.

Rockafellas Ladies

The u20 Rockafellas Ladies team have recently taken part in the renowned ‘Engen Knockout Challenge Tournament’.

One of the club’s managers, Nino Solomans said:

“We really enjoyed ourselves on the opening day of the 2021 Engen Knockout Challenge. It was such a good experience for the girls, especially at such a high level of the women’s game. We were actually the only team at the event who plays in a division lower than all of the other participants”.

Last month the Rockafellas u16 category for boys took part in their Championship League Final. In a closely fought encounter the young team unfortunately lost 2-1 but had their reputation secured as the second best team in Mitchell’s Plain.

The under 16’s have most recently participated in the Bayview u16 Tournament, unfortunately losing their opening game against African Tribes 2-1.
