We caught up with our Financial Accountant Lorraine after the announcement that she was an ACCA Prize Winner.

As one of the top ACCA students in ‘Advanced Performance Management & Advanced Taxation’ for exams taken in September 2020, we wanted to find out the secret of Lorraine’s success.

An ACCA qualification

Lorraine worked as part of the Jupiter team in South Africa, making the move to Newport in late 2019.

We were excited to learn more on how the story of Lorraine’s ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) journey began. Lorraine says:

“I started the qualification in South Africa after completing my Honours. I chose the ACCA route rather than the local South African route as the ACCA is a global professional accounting body.”

Talking about her move to the UK, Lorraine said:

“As it turns out this was a wise choice as I ended up relocating from our South African office to our UK office. As ACCA’s headquarters are in London it was really simple to finish off the last exams in the UK.”

You can read the rest of our interview with Lorraine in the next issue of our corporate magazine, Global Roots.
