Due to the fantastic positioning of our farm in the Limpopo province, our Star Ruby grapefruit are available earlier than other South African regions.
Grown in prime farmland, Jupiter’s Star Ruby grapefruit are cultivated to an exceptional quality, providing good-sized sought-after fruit before other growing areas in South Africa.
Handpicked from our South African farm, our Star Ruby’s are harvested at the optimum time to provide a superb quality fruit with an ideal balance of bitter-sweet flesh.
Why Star Ruby?
The almost oval fruit has almost seedless flesh, a tart yet sweet flavour and a high juice content. Sweeter than other varieties such as White Marsh, Star Ruby grapefruit have an attractive red-blushed skin and a smooth golden rind.
Did you know…?
The Star Ruby grapefruit originates from Texas, USA and is the result of irradiated Hudson grapefruit seed from the breeding program of R. A. Hensz of Texas A & I University, Weslaco, Texas.
