On Saturday 9th July we were delighted to host a fruit shy competition for local school children close to our UK HQ, competing to WIN healthy snacks for their school in September.

Our team of Jupiter volunteers replicated a traditional coconut shy with pineapples and oranges for a fruity twist to the entertainment.

The shy offered children the chance to topple pineapples in a bid to win tokens for their school, the school with the most tokens at the end of show day wins a Babybel® Light, Apple and Grape snack pack for each child in their school as they embark on a new school year in September.

A show to remember

Since its inception in 1890, the show has been run by the Newport and District Agricultural Society to provide Shropshire’s best one day show of family fun.

The sun-soaked Saturday featured live entertainment, a focus on local food, fun activities for schools, livestock, horticulture and crafts categories, shopping and more.

Jupiter Group have been a corporate sponsor of the show since 2018, hosting a free fruity activity as well as sponsoring the Little Foodies activity tent teaching children new culinary skills.

This year at our fruit shy, local school child Oliver, aged ten from Lilleshall Primary School, was shot of the day knocking over all five pineapples with five oranges in a row!

Head of Marketing, Kirsty said:

“Thank you to everyone who made it to the show, to the Festival of Food area and of course the Jupiter Group fruit shy. The show was a huge success, with a record number of ticket sales, and it was lovely to see all the children enjoying themselves. They definitely kept us busy!”

Drum roll please…. huge congratulations to our lucky winner Tibberton CE Primary School who will be receiving a Babybel® Light Cheese, Apple & Grape Snack Pack for every child in their school in September!
