The third episode of our second season is now LIVE!
Our Head of Sales, Gareth Wilcock was joined by Andy Nudds-Hunter, Sharpak Aylesham’s UK Retail Director to discuss how the Prevented Ocean Plastic™ (POP) initiative has provided a fantastic, recycled solution for our prepared fruit punnets.
Providing fascinating insight, Gareth and Andy discussed the immense impact that POP has on communities in countries without a formal recycling infrastructure and how keeping shorelines clear of plastic waste helped to provide a regular source of income for so many families during the pandemic.
In 2020 alone, the GUILLIN Group, of which Sharpak is a member, recycled the equivalent of 840,000,000 water bottles through the POP initiative, which is the largest recycling effort of ocean bound plastic from any organisation globally.
Sharpak and Prevented Ocean Plastic™
Sharpak Aylesham, focus on the design and production of food packaging solutions and aim to reduce their impact on the planet by sourcing POP as part of their commitment to sustainability.
The POP program is an initiative that helps tens of thousands of people around the world by focussing on providing recycling systems for coastal communities that don’t have a recognised recycling framework.
