The packing of our premium easy to peel Nadorcott’s is continuing in Morocco with good volume and great quality.
Now into the peak of our North African production and are pleased to be packing for our customers in the US, UK, EU and Middle-Eastern markets.
Fantastic quality fruit
The quality of our Moroccan citrus on arrival remains good and thanks to best practice throughout the supply-chain, we expect that to continue.
We have been packing 10kg, 15kg cartons and can offer a generic or branded 10kg Nespak option, that includes our own premium brand, Elara Gold.
The quality of our fruit continues to excel, as seen from its vibrant orange colour and strong tangy flavour.
A seasonal update
Typical daytime temperatures are very warm, around 27 degrees with readings levelling out at 11 degrees during the night in Marrakech.
The cooler nights help with the natural colouring of our fruit and although some regions are experiencing rain we do not expect issues.
We are now around 90 containers ahead of last year’s overall volume out of Morocco, which is an increase of c. 120%.
Our hard-citrus season is now also underway as the harvest and shipping of our Washington Sanguine oranges is taking place and we are pleased to report that the first arrivals have been well received.
Next in our citrus schedule are Maroc lates, starting WEEK 9/ 10 and running until WEEK 23/ 24. These timings coincides nicely with our own Valencia crop from Maswiri, South Africa that will start around WEEK 21.
