Newport’s Nova Raiders Cycling Club held its annual charity fundraiser at the weekend and Jupiter Group was proud to support the event.

The club’s Route 66 Sportive saw cyclists take on either a 33-mile or 66-mile picturesque trek from Newport Showground in glorious sunshine on Saturday, May 12.

To help keep participants energy up during the challenge, we donated 400 bananas and 200 thirst-quenching oranges to food stations around the course.

Scores of cyclists enjoyed the fruit as they tackled the two trails which took them through beautiful Shropshire countryside, taking in iconic views along the way, including of The Wrekin, Long Mynd and the Shropshire plains.

Comments posted from cyclists on the day included:

“The food stations were brilliant.”

Nova Raiders will now make a donation to the Myeloma UK – the charity is fighting cancer which arises from plasma cells, a type of white blood cell that’s made in the bone marrow – following the successful fundraiser.
