Last week, in WEEK 30, we began harvesting our Thompson Seedless grape in Crete.

The traditional Thompson variety is a crisp, white grape that has been the mainstay of the seedless grape industry for many years.

Head of Grapes for Jupiter Group Damian Sutherland, reports:

Thompson Seedless is a real staple to kick off our Greek grape season each year before moving on to our exciting ARRA™ varieties in a few short weeks. It has been fantastic to see the development of the Thompson over the last few months and the harvest is looking great.”

Looking ahead to mainland Greece

Our new variety table grapes are scheduled to start harvesting around WEEK 35 in northern Greece.

Our popular ARRA Sweeties™ (ARRA 15) are now fully formed berries and are developing well as their size continues to increase in the Kavala and Katerini regions alongside the smaller commercial volume of ARRA Sugar Drop™ (ARRA 30).

The green seedless grapes grow concurrently with fellow new variety grapes ARRA Passion Fire™ (ARRA 29) a crisp pink-red grape, and ARRA Passion Glow™ (ARRA 19) a sweet berry with brix of around 19%.

The Greek ARRA™ season comes to an end with the ARRA Mystic Dream™ (ARRA 32), the noted large berried black seedless variety harvested from mid-September through to mid-November.

Our IFG grape varieties continue to develop well too with Jack’s Salute™, Sweet Celebration™ and Sweet Globe™ available from around WEEK 42 onwards.
