We’re pleased to report that our Hayward kiwi fruit are now harvesting from orchards in Greece

The fertile soils and positioning of Greece in the Northern Hemisphere provides the ideal location to cultivate great quality kiwi and shorten lead times to market.

One of the most popular kiwi cultivars globally, Hayward kiwis are prized for their great sweet flavour and well-balanced sourness.

Not only eaten for their delicious taste, kiwi fruit are also packed full of vitamin C and antioxidants that can support heart and digestive health as well as maintaining your natural immunity.

Discussing the market

In a recent interview with Fresh Plaza, our CEO Mark Tweddle said:

“The kiwi market is currently very strong with demand outweighing supply. The low Italian volumes coupled with a focus for growers to grow gold varieties means we have found ourselves in a positive position. New Zealand’s kiwifruit volumes continue to be destined for China meaning there is space in other markets for our Greek grown fruit.”

Shipping to customers

To ensure that the fantastic quality seen when harvested is maintained, our kiwi are kept at the optimum temperature from packhouse through to customer, as a result of the controlled atmosphere cold stores and pre-cooling facilities found on farm.
