The first of our red varieties, ARRA Passion Glow™ (ARRA 19) is currently thriving in the ideal conditions of the Komotini region in north-eastern Greece.
The delicious crisp berries will begin harvesting around WEEK 38 through to WEEK 41.
Reports from our Senior Procurement Manager Dimitris, indicate the quality of the grape is fantastic, with a good blush hue and excellent sizing.
Despite how early in the season we are, the conditions in Greece mean the berries are developing superbly.
The grapes are already developing their distinct, ruby red colouration and the Brix levels are currently at 13-14%.
Additional ARRA Passion Glow™ (ARRA 19) production
To meet demand for the juicy, seedless variety, we also have production in the Kavala region of northern Greece.
The additional crop is due to harvest a little later around WEEK 40 to help extend the supply window to our global customer base.
The start of our ARRA™ season
As master license holders for ARRA™ varieties in Greece, we have a selection of white, red and black grapes in production. The Greek ARRA ™ season kicks off with in WEEK 36, with our ARRA Sweeties™ (ARRA 15) harvesting first.
Either in their fourth or fifth season of cultivation, on-farm agronomical and variety experience is shining through with a top-quality crop that is clean, with a good canopy offering ample sun protection.
Keep your eyes peeled!
