On April 22nd 2021 the fresh produce industry will be gathering virtually to attend South Asia’s premier event, Fresh Produce India.

In 2020 over 650 delegates tuned into Fresh Produce India as onset of the COVID-19 pandemic took the event online, becoming the first mobile-ready event in the industry.

Last year our CEO Mark and Joint MD Yvonne featured as Keynote speakers at the event, discussing our continued investment into new varieties in India.

Investing in the future of India…

Our husband-and-wife duo discussed our table grape investment in India with our growing partners Sahyadri Farms. As well as touching on the introduction of exclusive new table grapes into the country such as the new ARRA varieties; Yvonne and Mark also spoke on Jupiter’s work in local communities and creating a sustainable business model.

Adding industry value

We are the Master License holders for ARRA varieties in India and awarded the exclusive production rights for ARRA in the region to our long-term grower partners, Sahyadri Farms in 2019. In the entirety of India, only Jupiter have the exclusive licenses to grow and market these new variety grapes.

Last year Yvonne spoke on adding industry value and creating a more consistent product:

“The important thing for us at the moment is that our retailers understand that we are doing these things as responsible suppliers and as responsible growers and it’s important that they share the responsibility of getting that across to consumers. Hopefully there is a combined effort to infiltrate the consumers’ understanding.”

Our Indian table grape season

As a fantastic Indian table grape season nears its end in the coming weeks, take a look back at some of our successes this year in the news area of our website or by catching up with the latest issue of our corporate magazine, Global Roots.
