And that’s not all….

When it comes to being fast we have a little something in common with our namesake planet of Jupiter.

Earlier this year we were extremely proud and honoured to appear for the very first time in the Sunday Times’ coveted International Track 200 as one of Great Britain’s top performing private mid-market companies.

We ranked 17th in the list of Britain’s fastest growing companies when it comes to multi-million-pound international sales, and earlier this week we saw our business highlighted under the spotlight yet again when we attended the Track 200’s annual awards dinner in London.

The fastest spinning planet

When it comes to fast, we clearly chose the right planet to name our company after, because as it turns out, Jupiter is also the fastest spinning planet in our Solar System!

Rotating, on average once in just under every 10 hours, it also means that Jupiter has the shortest days of all the planets in our known galaxy…..but we won’t dwell on that element!

Astronomers say that this is “very fast” given how large the planet of Jupiter actually is.

The fifth planet from the sun, it’s the largest in our Solar System. Often described as the “giant planet”, experts it has a mass one-thousandth that of the sun, and is two and a half times than that of all other known Solar System planets.

The connections don’t stop there either….

And it’s not the only coincidental connection between Jupiter the planet and our fresh produce firm Jupiter Group either……..

In July this year the planet of Jupiter hit the headlines following the “exciting discovery” of new moons by astronomers.

Now one of the moons, dubbed the “oddball” – because at 1km it’s the planet’s smallest moon to have been discovered – received a nomination to be named after Valetudo, the great-granddaughter of the Roman god Jupiter.

That excited us because she was actually the goddess of health and hygiene – and that’s something at the top our list at our BRC Accredited fresh produce world.

So, naming this new moon Valetudo, certainly gets our hygienic seal of approval!

Do you know of any other connections we could make with the planet Jupiter? If so get in touch below on one of our social media channels.
