Jupiter was proud to be part of an exclusive entrepreneurial group invited to share dinner with Dragons’ Den’s Peter Jones CBE earlier this week.

Ahead of dinner Peter, who has been dubbed the UK’s most popular entrepreneur and is a longstanding Dragon on the BBC programme, also held a roundtable discussion, with just 10 invited businessmen and women, which included Jupiter founders’ Mark and Yvonne Tweddle.

The small gathering, chaired by Sage CEO Stephen Kelly at London’s luxury five-starred Andaz Hotel on Wednesday evening, followed Peter’s appointment as Sage ambassador in April, and the conversation centred around topics that are affecting ambitious businesses today.

Peter’s role with Sage, the UK’s largest technology company, and also a market leader in cloud business management, is Ambition Ambassador.

Sage stated of Peter’s appointment that it reflected “the commitment of both parties to help new and existing businesses of all sizes to succeed and grow in the UK, and internationally, as captured in Sage new campaign to recognise and support UK Ambition.”

The company has also launched a hunt to identify the UK’s most ambitious company and the 10 finalists joined in the latter part of the evening, and Mark and Yvonne also got the chance to meet and chat with them too as part of a networking session.

Jupiter was invited to attend the event, which offered a rare chance to learn and hear from Peter first-hand, as a customer of Sage’s largest UK business partner Datel and its chairman Alan Simpson was also in attendance.

Amazing and interesting

Mark said: “Overall it was an amazing evening. We learnt a lot from what Peter and Stephen are doing, as well as other really interesting business leaders.

“It was a privilege for Yvonne and I to spend the evening in the company of Peter and Stephen, as well as our Datel colleagues.”

The event also saw Peter, who is working with Sage, an FTSE 100 technology company, to help “unlock the potential of British businesses”, deliver a Facebook Live talk which was entitled Best of British: Home Grown Success, as well as an interactive Q&A session.

The event came in what’s been a very exciting week for Jupiter.

On Sunday it was ranked 17 in the prestigious Sunday Times’ International Track 200. You can find out more here. You can also see Peter talking about the power of Sage here.
