Earlier this week the team in South Africa coordinated the donation of four pallets of vitamin C rich satsumas to the Moms of Wellington charity.

Amid the COVID-19 global challenges, we were so pleased to provide a vitamin boost to communities local to our South African farm. Ensuring that children have access to all of the right fresh produce during this time is of utmost importance and can help the function of a normal immune system.

A dedicated charity…

Moms of Wellington (MoW) are a charitable organization of dedicated individuals that aim to make a positive impact in the lives of young mothers and children. Based near our Zonquasdrift farm in the town of its namesake, Wellington, they supply meals to children in poverty and those with special needs, in foster homes, schools and retirement homes. MoW feed hundreds of children per day with at least one hearty meal whilst also aiming to adhere to their mission of nurturing, guarding, guiding and loving the underprivileged children in their care.

Healthy and delicious snacks

Soft and easy to peel, satsumas are a juicy and sweet type of mandarin. Known for its mild and delicious flavour as well as the health benefits. These healthy snacks offer a nutritious burst of vitamins as just one of the fruits can supply almost half of the recommended daily intake of vitamin C.
