Supporting Little Libraries
Before our acquisition, Cool Fresh International BV were supporting many fantastic initiatives through their Stars in their Eyes Foundation. Now welcomed into the Jupiter way of life, we have inherited these wonderful projects and will continue to support many them through the Nancy Tweddle Foundation.
One such project was the brilliant ‘Little Libraries’.
Set up by French-Swedish philanthropist Camille Quine, Little Libraries distributes books and stationary to childcare centres in underprivileged areas. With the original aim to donate to five Little Libraries, the project now supports over 300!
Little Libraries helping underprivileged children
The Little Libraries initiative provides pre-schools with a reading corner where children are free to discover whole new worlds through words and pictures. Allowing kids the opportunity to become familiar with books and learning is a really helpful skill as they will be provided with textbooks when arriving at Primary School.
Originally aiming to help five schools, within a year Little Libraries had helped 40. In only five years the initiative had helped 250 schools which is a massive 30,000 books and 8,500 children!
Continued support from Jupiter
The worthy cause is donated to in memory of Paul Beyersbergen, a friend of the company whom was tragically killed in a car accident a few years ago. By donating to Little Libraries we’re able to keep his memory alive.
