We are thrilled to announce that we have been selected as a finalist to be named one of the best rural businesses in the UK after being shortlisted for a regional Rural Business Award.

The shortlist means we’ll be up against fellow rural businesses, entrepreneurs and enterprises from across the region for a place at the national final which takes place on Friday 4th October 2019 at the University of Nottingham.

Held in partnership with Amazon, the Rural Business Awards are organised by rural business for rural business. They aim to celebrate the achievements of rural businesses and develop a strong network for business owners.

Delighted to be recognised

Here at Jupiter we are thrilled to be recognised for our sterling fresh produce and impact in the rural community as a business.

With our headquarters in Newport, Shropshire and farms based all over the world in rural agricultural locations, the local and rural community is something close to our heart. We try to support as many rural initiatives as we can whether through our localised agronomy support system, the development of less fortunate communities or funding third party initiatives through our Nancy Tweddle Foundation.

Our aim is to be the first choice fresh produce company for supplies, customers and employees globally, so to be a finalist for an RBA is an honour!

Rural contributions

We love to employ local people and empower them to become integral cogs in the Jupiter Family, we are particularly proud of our links to Harper Adams Agricultural University College and the work we do with local rurally based apprentices within our business as we introduce them to work life and develop the beginning of their careers together. The support does go further afield too, into a much wider rural community of marginal farmers in India alongside community and village development on our own South African farms.

Catch Jupiter at the Newport show on Saturday July 13 where we’ll be running an apple bobbing contest for local schools to win a month’s free fruit and £100 sports equipment! We hope to see you there!

The Jupiter Group is a leader in the global fresh produce market. Ranked 22nd in the 2019 The Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200, Jupiter grows and supplies new and traditional varieties of grapes and citrus alongside melons, pineapples, cherries, avocados, ginger and garlic.
