On January 20 The UK Department for International Trade is bringing together UK and African businesses for a one-day virtual event to explore the opportunities for investment and partnerships.

Dubbed the ‘Africa Investment Conference’, the event comes 12 months after the UK-Africa Investment Summit hosted in London by UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, where it was announced that 27 trade and investment deals worth £6.5bn and commitments worth £8.9bn had been agreed.

Join our Joint MD Yvonne

Presenting on ‘Strengthening African Agri-Business and Food Supply Chains with UK capability’, our Joint MD Yvonne Tweddle will be discussing Jupiter’s continued technological investments in South Africa and touching on our blockchain solution that was announced in 2020.

The conference will be a platform for delegates to learn more about the challenges and opportunities of doing business across Africa directly from UK companies well versed in that area.

Yvonne says:

“Through our Grower outreach initiative we are using technology to provide education, communication, transparency and professionalism so that growers can compete on a global scale in a consistent and professional manner.”

Her Majesty’s Trade Commissioner for Africa, Emma Wade-Smith OBE said:

“The Africa Investment Conference will build on the achievements of 2020’s landmark UK-Africa Investment Summit. With the global disruption to markets caused by COVID-19, investment will be vital to accelerate the UK and Africa’s economic recovery. I am proud that the investment partnerships that exist between Africa and the UK continue to sustain jobs and improve lives.”
