A flying start for rugby exchange lads in South Africa

First day of South African tour “very successful”

Jupiter’s rugby exchange has got off to a flying start as the trio of players taking part enjoyed a tour of some our long-term South African supply partners.
Accompanied by Jupiter employees Riaan and Dale, the first stop for Burton Rugby Club exchange students Jamie, Chaz and Cameron, was at one of our biggest supply partners in the country.
As well as getting to grips with some of the Top Fruit sold to markets like the UK and Middle East, they also visited its packhouse.
Next tour stop was to Ceres and one of the biggest growers in the Southern hemisphere, where the rugby lads were amazed by the size of the packhouse operation.
The trip was also a chance for us to catch up with our suppliers on last season and the coming season.
Riaan commented: “All in all it was a very successful day and I’m sure that Dale and the students gained valuable working experience.”
On their way back home to Paarl they even found time to stop off to taste some of the local wines at Du Toitskloof Wines – although some of it clearly wasn’t to everyone’s tastes! The rugby lads are pictured here in the beautiful Ceres Valley with Dale, far right.
