Social media abuzz with news of Jupiter’s top 20 Track 200 ranking

Social media congratulations keep on rolling in for Jupiter

Social media has been abuzz since Shropshire fresh produce firm Jupiter was revealed as one of the highest ranking new entrants in the Sunday Times’ prestigious International Track 200.

The Newport-based grower and distributor has been celebrating with its employees across the globe since the listing at 17 in the league table was revealed earlier this month.

The outstanding achievement comes after Jupiter, which was founded in 2003, recorded a 127.5 per cent average annual international sales growth over the past two years.

The fantastic success of the company, which is run by Lichfield husband and wife team, Mark and Yvonne Tweddle, has been widely welcomed.

A “great achievement”

On Twitter international trade market analyst Tom Fletcher, of Newport-based Challenger Insight, posted: “Congratulations. Genuinely the best achievement I’ve ever seen from a Newport business on a global stage, along with Harper placing in international university rankings.”

On Facebook Suffolk’s The Great Fruit and Veg Adventure said: “Great news for one of the fastest growing fresh produce businesses in the UK and also internationally.”

And fresh fruit industry recruitment consultancy Redfox Executive Selection Ltd, also Suffolk-based, also posted its congratulations on Facebook. It stated: “All credit to the team at Jupiter for gaining such a high place in the Sunday Times International Track 200.

“Great achievement for them and the fresh produce sectors.”

“Fantastic result”

The UK’s largest Sage business partner, Staffordshire-based Datel also posted: “Fantastic result for Datel customer #JupiterGroup to be ranked 17th out of 200 in Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200 2018!” on Twitter.

And New Spital Farm Market Tweeted: “Nice work team Jupiter!”

During its first 10 years Jupiter, which is the second largest, independent employer in Newport after Harper Adams University, grew steadily to reach a turnover of £20m, but in the last five years overall sales have risen dramatically to just shy of £60m.

And it’s the impressive international growth of the firm over the last two years that’s seen it ranked  so highly in the International Track 200 as global exports have risen from £1.8m in 2015 to £9.42m in 2017.

Based in the UK, Jupiter Group is a leader in the global fresh produce market. Ranked 17th in the 2018 The Sunday Times International Track 200, Jupiter grows and supplies citrus, top fruit, stone fruit, kiwi, soft fruit and a range of exotics.
